Acris crepitans - Small 2.5cm frog
- Dark triangular shaped mark between the eyes
- Red to brown with brown or black blotches
- Horizontal stripes in the hind legs
- Only found on Pelee Island, Lake Erie
- It likes warm, sandy areas along the shores of ponds, marshes, flooded field ditches and small streams.
- ENDANGERED
The call of the male Blanchard's Cricket Frog is described as a rapid clicking. Sightings in Ontario are extremely rare.
Description of call: Like clicking or tapping two stones together.
